fairytale cottages Summerisland by lbmcshutter

fairytale cottages Summerisland

I travelled to County Armagh, Northern Ireland to see my aunt and went by Vespa as I wanted to ride all the roads my dad would have ridden in his youth on his BSA motorbike and to film it all on my GoPro camera so that he can revisit the places with me. The GoPro is wonderful - gives the viewer the feeling of being along for the ride.

This photo was taken from my bedroom window at my Aunt's house. It is the same bedroom my grandmother slept in during her second marriage to my Aunt's father. It is in a little group of houses built by the Linen Mill owner for his workers, the area is called Summerisland, which always sounded like such a magical place to me as a child. These little fairytale cottages are the gatehouses to the linen mill owner's house.
Great capture. Beautiful place.

People live in those places?! They seem surreal. Do you wear your GoPro on your helmet? Great thing to do...to capture the journey to share it with him. :)
