Irrigation Pivot

These are a common sight out in country areas of Australia and can sometimes be quite long in length. They are used for crops such as lucerne, which is mainly used for the production of hay, silage & pasture. It looks that maybe a crop has recently been sown, and the soil looks a bit damp in spots, suggesting that it may have been irrigated quite recently.....I wish that it had of been working at the time. I'll have to try to capture one that's in operation some time in the future - fingers crossed
I hope you get a bit more rain soon. And these irrigation systems do a wonderful job.

We have many of these here too! Often for pasture for the milking cows.

@dorsethelen I am not sure as I took the photo from the road side and it was hard to tell how long it was from the angle - at a guess I think it was probably 700m or so long.
