This place really fascinates me...I've been there twice in my travels & reckon I could go there 100 more & still be just as fascinated with it. Although the people in the shot add perspective, I would dearly love to be able to get some shots without the hoards of people that are usually there - I think that's wishful thinking though!
Another of my fav older shots for "Wind-Back Wednesday" :)
Excellent image leggzy, you can clone out all the small people quite easy, the three on the right will take more time, if you lived close to me, I would call round to show you. ha ha., send the photo to me, and I will try and take them all out. e-mail: ggrumpy@hotmail.co.uk
I felt the same about the people when I was there. I'm amazed how different the rocks look in bright light, it was an overcast day when I was there. I must go back.
Went there in the 80's during the Troubles, and there weren't many tourists then. Happy they are there now. I seem to remember some of the steps were black and some pink, and this isn't a trick of the light in your photo.
Fascinating place. The people add perspective- I don't mind them. But I understand your wish to get a shot without them too. Perhaps a day when the weather is not as conducive to tourism!
I loe this place, as well, although it's been far too many years since I've seen it. I think the answer is to be there just as the sun is about to rise. I don't think I'd do it, though, I like my sleep too much.
