Coolamine Homestead by leggzy

Coolamine Homestead

Coolamine Homestead consists of several buildings. This hut was built by Fred Campbell & was known as "Campbell's residence". It was built in the 1890s for summer use and is of classic slab construction with a corrugated iron roof and wide verandah's. The building in the background is the "Cheese House".

The extensive buildings and yards were falling down in the early 1970s, and as the result of a Heritage Commission grant, Bill Boyd and many others restored all buildings from 1983 onwards.
Very interesting little place.

Nice composition. Is the hut easy to get to?

@jeneurell yes Coolamine is one of the easiest huts to get to. It involves a fair bit of dirt roads, but they are in good condition & the huts are right close to the roadside. Just put in coolamine homestead on google maps
