The warbling Magpie by leggzy

The warbling Magpie

One of the juvenile Magpies that calls our backyard home. I think he is one of the babies from last year (he hasn't turned fully black yet like adult magpies are), and the parents currently have new babies in the nest for this year. I could hear him warbling away, so was lucky enough to have time to grab my camera & get a couple of shots, he was a fair way up in the tree.
A lovely triptych of this beautiful and new to me bird.

Beautiful triptych. The sound of magpies outside my window on our farm is a great memory of my youth. And for Diana @ludwigsdiana , some stuff about magpies.

I never knew juveniles were that colour! We have lots of grown ones on our lawn but if I see one this colour I shall recognise it now.
