Recently re-edited this shot taken last year in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa.
When on a gamedrive in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa we saw a small car stopped at the side of the road. A couple of meters further an elephant bull was just standing in the bushes next to the road. We stopped next to the car and were told they daren't drive past the elephant, afraid of a charge. We offered to drive past in our significant larger 4x4 first. My guide slowly drove towards the elephant, meanwhile opening the window. He told me I had 2 seconds to take my shots, he stopped straight in front of the Elephant, I took three shots and we drove on. Never have been this close to an elephant before or after. Photo taken at 70mm with no cropping. When I looked in the rearview mirror I saw the small car also made it past the elephant, but they didn't stop to take pictures.
