My camera is in a young Cherry tree with one of those rubbery wrap around leggy tripods. It's light,short,fits on the side of my camera bag and works in a pinch :-)
You just have to work out the correct distance and its all good here! I know - you are the one looking slightly worried - if it will go - I know - I always look worried in these sort of pictures!
