This monarch butterfly is about 30 minutes from bursting free from his/her chrysalis. The butterfly hanging behind has been out for about an hour and the blurry green chrysalis on the right has a day to go.
I am aww of this whole transition from caterpillar to butterfly. I have three out of three coming out yesterday in my yard. Beautiful capture with those different stages in one shot. Planning on posting mine tomorrow :-)
What is spectacular photo to catch three different stages all in one photo! Amazing DOF and I love the clarity of the one in the foreground! How amazing to be able to see its wings through the chrysalis!
