After the rocket launch Tuesday Donna and I headed to Assateague Island for our second attempt at star trails. Well, really our third because we couldn't figure out why we couldn't get our Intervalometer gadgets to work right that night so second attempt was a bust. Our goal was to get a circular pattern this time by placing the star Polaris in the center of the shot. It was a cold night but the skies were clear with the stars shining bright. Goal achieved 😊. We had intended to let the camera shoot for an hour but the crescent moon was just so beautiful that night and as it was getting ready to set I just couldn't stand not getting a shot so I stopped at 45 minutes only to turn the camera and the beautiful crescent moon had gone behind the cloud cover that was hugging the horizon. 😟 Sure are a lot of planes and satellites in the sky.
This is 50 photos combined in a free program called StarStax for Mac.
Great accomplishment! Turned out wonderful. You would need to go back and edit each shot to get the planes out and then put it together , but that is many planes
