Across The Pond by lesip

Across The Pond

I came home yesterday from my Tidal Basin visit telling my husband if I thought it was safe walking from the metro exit to the Tidal Basin (it's a hike) by myself an hour before sunrise that's where I would be heading today. Got the love my husband saying no problem I'll take you, so we got up at 4:30am and were out the door at 5.

Taken at 6:23am during the blue hour from the MLK memorial looking across the pond.......... so many shots to take and so little time...
Beautiful tones and light!

I have so much admiration for anyone who gets out for sunrise, not to mention a spouse who lovingly accompanies! I love your shot. The branches are a beautiful screen. Fav

Stunning early light! I took a shot at this same spot last week ( just before the bloom) when I was in DC! How fortunate you are to live in or near this magnificent city.

Um, wow. Just wow. This is an incredible photo, I love the colors and how the memorial is green against the pinks and purples.

@redy4et it's about an hour away but I take the metro quite often. It is amazing now to live so close although as a child we didn't appreciate it. Every relative visiting us would mean a day trip there seeing the same things. Now with camera in hand I never get tired of seeing the same thing , There's always something different or a new way the photographically see it.

A thought...so many of these are iconic of your 'town' -- why not tag some (or at least one) for http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/27367/announcing-march-town-2016-competition -- think about it! I loved this one!
