After 10 days of Shelter In Place I headed out with my grocery list and mask for Costco and Safeway. I had also called mom yesterday and had her give me her list. My brother Bill has been wonderful dropping groceries and supplies off to mom these past weeks.
What a difference Costco was from our visit a month ago. I did arrive during senior hour . The setup was the same but no crowds, no lines and they had everything on my list. The sign outside said they were only out of 3 things TP, Alcohol , ? can't remember. Yes, I'm a senior. I wore my mask and can't imagine having to wear one all day long.
Safeway also wasn't very busy. Are people finally listening or was I just lucky twice. I was able to also get everything on my list except an item the neighbor requested. Maybe I am lucky. Although TP was not on my list I just couldn't pass it up. This is my first TP purchase pre-pandemic. They did have one way aisles but not everyone was paying attention. Again not crowded so no problem but I can see it becoming one when you stop to find or decide what you actually want as the line forms behind you.
Back home, shower change gather up moms groceries and head to Laurel. It was nice to see mom after so many weeks even if it was for 5 minutes.
New normal for now. Great documentary shot...We are off to town tomorrow, but trying the delivery option at Walmart. I've resisted, but the times demand a change of routine.
So brave to go out! And it sounds productive. I haven't been out in almost 4 weeks, and am getting increasingly concerned about when I can do it. But I SO want to be out in fresh air!!
@taffy I just can't imagine not being able to go out my front room. I know how lucky I am to be able to take safe walks everyday. So much in life is taken for granted til it is taken away or threatened.
