Lights In The Night by lesip

Lights In The Night

I have captured this Christmas Tree in the daylight when passing through on my way to the beach and was so excited to capture it in the evening when it was lite. We were spending the weekend with family 20 minutes away from it. We arrived to a car chase happening behind us and had to get out of the way so the police could zoom by us. Not them in the picture but will remind me of them whizzing by. I had it all planned out how I wanted to capture it and you know best laid plans... four trash cans lined the view from that angle so I got on the other side of the tree. Now there's a group of youngsters horsing around the tree. Okay 20 somethings so youngsters to me. As I set up my tripod and camera they notice and start posing. LOL After what seemed like forever (5 minutes) they finally moved on. Loading the photos on the computer I missed the focus on the tree plus didn't get the POV I had planned. I didn't care for the color out of camera photo but this b&w version is growing on me.

Last years day photo included Tiny T ...lol

The light trails draw the attention from the tree but given the chase going on that makes perfect sense

The absence of color works well in this scene. I get hung up on the colorful holiday lights. Maybe I'll try some b&w?
