Poppy cloak

In aid of Remembrance day, the poppy cloak was made from lots of knitted poppies then hung around the shoulders of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's statue.
How wonderful !

Very cool remembrance. A very unique tradition you have in England. Our remembrance is around the same time...

@pickerandagrinner @888rachel Thank you, i have not seen this sort of thing before, usually we wear a poppy and a poppy wreath is placed at the foot of war memorials.

In the US our war memorials are being criticized from the history behind those depicted. Confederate memorials in particular are subject to protest from their connection to our slave-trading past. Our country is in such turmoil. I wish we could unite in this way.

@pickerandagrinner interesting comment Louis. Although the war memorials are there to remember those who fought and lost their lives in WW1 and WW2, we also now remember those who lost their lives in later wars such as the Falklands, Iran and Afghanistan.
