It's fascinating seeing this tradition still happening, In 2011 I was in Ireland and we came across some and had to investigate it. fav

This is very interesting to see. How long does it take to dry out?

@777margo Drying depends on weather - if there is any sort of wind blowing it is fairly quick but heavy rain soon dampens it down again. Once dry it tends to stay dry. Peat cutters try and get it cut as early as possible so that it has a chance to dry properly at some point in the summer.
