The ferry to and from Aberdeen is a crucial lifeline for the Islands. It is not always a pleasant trip and the fact that I managed this shot in 2010 of one of the ferries from the other on the route reminds me that the one in the photo was 12 hours late in arriving due to the weather. Our trip was not too bad as it was calming down as the night went on.
