I usually wait until the first May Bank Holiday Monday before posting my first Puffin photo of the year but given the poor forecast for the day and the fine evening we headed to Sumburgh Head to see if there were many about. Pleased to say the place was heaving with them. Good time to see them as they are just now pairing off so none in the burrows yet and no need for all day feeding. Plenty Guillemots and Razorbills as well.

@mona65 Thanks Mona would not have spotted that. Strange what grabs peoples attention as a shot like this for me is so simple and easy to get and certainly not my best Puffin shot over the years
Fantastic shot. Puffins make me think of my mum who was born and brought up in Sullom Voe. Her favourite bird. Following you in the hopes of seeing more wonderful shots from Shetland!
