Esplanade

A sprinkling of snow this morning and a wee bit more later on but nothing to compare to many of today's photos.

Commercial Street is at the back of these buildings which are the Post Office on the right and the much visited Faerdie Maet takeaway cafe on the left. With the school moving to further away from this part this road is very quiet in the morning (all day in fact).
Very norwegian sounding name of that takeaway cafe. "Ferdigmat" is a word very much in use here still.

@helstor The owner is a great believer in speaking "Old Shetland" which has many Norse similarities. Where I stay in Sandwick and I assume the "Wick" is the Norwegian "Vik" Also street name like Sandveien and King Hakkon Street.
