The cargo of lambs from Fair Isle for the Lerwick market had gone by the time I arrived at the Grutness. The Good Shepherd as you can imagine was in need of a good clean before taking passengers back. The easiest way to clean the ramp used to get the sheep off was to dip it several times into the sea.
