Darn right. They are hard to see. I found three. Last summer I took some photos of a killdeer (a North American plover) nesting in the rocks on a lakeshore. She blended right in and was difficult to spot

@cdcook48 A couple of years ago we had a Killdeer in the village for around 18 months. Never seen one before or since.
