Vandalism or a reinterpretation?

This is an old statue in Copenhagen depicting a woman selling fish, she stands right by the water where the fishing boats used to come in. Someone had some fun with her, and you might say a new piece of art has been created. Some would probably call it vandalism others would call it freedom of expression, she will get cleaned up again so this is only temporary but I actually find it quite interesting – maybe this is how she is really feeling…?
Wow, that's kinda sad that someone would do that, but it sure makes for a great photo!

Visine? Maybe it was done by a teen who just saw 28 days/weeks later. Annoying on one level but intriguing on another. Cool shot!

I love this statue. I go by it everytime I visit Copenhagen. I must say it made me a bit sad to see it this way...She may not want to see anymore! Great capture of a moment in history! Nicely done.

I like the spin on it, but it is vandalism

Interesting interpretation, but it's a shame they had to go and vandalize it.

this is a very powerful shot, i hope it was done to demonstrate something that needed to be said, rather than just vandalism. As, to be honest, it "makes" or certainly adds to it, I bet the statue gets noticed a lot more now!

while i hate vandalism, i love your interpretation! glad she will be cleaned up, but i'm sure another "artist" will come along soon :)
