Corn Crib by lindasees

Corn Crib

This dilapidated building is held together with iron bands which encircle the cement blocks. It was built in 1938 by a farmer who made the cement blocks himself. The structure at the top of the crib houses the machinery for lifting the corn and also provides ventilation.
I've never seen a building like this before - where they once commonly found?

A great and interesting shot. I'm trying to work out the little windows at the top?

@handymaurice I'm not sure how common they were, but we saw two of them tonight as we were driving. @quietpurplehaze The windows were for ventilation and light.

I like the curved lines and the textures here, and how impressive that the framer who built it made the blocks himself!
