We planted this flowering vine years ago to cover our porch. We laughed at it every year as it slowly made it's way across our porch (It's supposed to be an "aggressive grower"). It took it's sweet time to cover our porch, but this year it actually starting blooming like crazy.
This photo was taken in the harsh afternoon sun. I had my camera on a tripod, shutter release on a 2 second self-timer, and handheld 2 strobes close to this flower. Gusts of wind kept pulling the flower in and out of the frame, hence the cropped top edge. This was one of those shots that would have been great to have had a set of helping hands. I actually tried to have my 2 year old son hold the strobes, but he kept dropping them. Not cool. Some day he'll make a great assistant :).
Your photo's beautiful! I would never have thought to use strobes around a flower in the sunlight...but you must know because this looks so nice. Everytime I see info like this, I know I'm getting behinder and behinder!
