First Time Behind the Wheel - 100th Photo!

Andrew starts Drivers Education tomorrow so I took him to my office parking lot just so he could have a little test drive beforehand. Before we got started I took his picture to record the big event. Yes, he looks like he’s taking it too lightly in this picture. Fortunately, behind the wheel he was a bit more serious. I admire the brave souls willing to teach Drivers Ed. A few minutes was about all I could take.
good luck with all that! I have one, too, that has his permit - license in June. thanks for stopping by to comment!

I taught both my son and daughter how to drive. It wasn't easy and my daughter tried then to learn a clutch driven car which I also tried to teach, but she could never master it. From 1971 to 1973 I worked for a driving school. From that experience I have to say that some people should never get a license because they just don't have the ability to learn anything beyond the basics. And that is a scary thing to say because you know they are out ther today.

Well, at least he let you get his picture! Even though his blocking his face a bit. Oh, I'm sending lots of peace and patience your way... Good luck!

As a Parent that is a scarey first step.

Good luck to Andrew! I remember the days of teaching my girls to drive...I think I would go the Driver's Ed route if I had to do it all over again! :) Fun shot of the newbie driver!

My parents did the same thing with me when I was young. They let me try in a parking lot for a few minutes the day before Drivers Ed. That few minutes in a parking lot was all they could take. In just a few years this will be my son. I had my children later in life so I'm to old to try to teach them to drive. I doubt I'll be able to handle a few minutes in a parking lot . I just counted it out and I'll be 53 when my youngest is old enough to drive (gulp)!

@stepheesue @mrssmith @erikadee @robinwarner @digitalrn @peggysirk @olivetreeann @swrws @kerristephens @schoolnsuch Thanks for your comments and encouragement. This is my second time around, but my first was my daughter who is much more conservative. I’m kind of thankful that we still have a year before he’s eligible to get his actual license.
@rayswrld It’s scary how easy it is to get a driver’s license when you consider the risk, isn’t it? I’ve know a couple of people I’ve felt like I needed to bring a helmet along if I was going to have to ride with them.
