Still holding on

This old vise has a lot of miles on it. It came from my father-in-law’s workshop after he died. I love the way the metal shows its age. A bit of nostalgia for my fellow Canadians - if you zoom in you can see that the price tag is from Simpson’s.
A beauty

Wow, that goes waaay back. Out west Simpson’s partnered with Sears Roebuck and formed Simpson-Sears in the early fifties so that is the store I grew up with. Of course, along with Eaton’s and Woodward’s (a western chain) they are all gone now. Only The Bay remains. I really like your b&w treatment of this image.

You've brought back memories of my dad's shed for me. A lovely nostalgic shot and perfect in b&w.

@cdcook48 Yes, we had the Simpsons-Sears chain out east too Chris. But there also continued to be a separate Simpson's chain which was slightly higher end and didn't have the catalogue business, until they were sold to The Bay in 1978. I very clearly remember special trips to the Simpsons (they dropped the apostrophe after a while) flagship store in Toronto, to see their elaborate Christmas windows. Memories...
