A few years ago we very enthusiastically attempted to be "self sufficient" (to be defined very very loosely). We did have a successful crop or two, but frankly, with poor soil (full of building rubble), poor weather and only very sporadic spare time it became too much of an effort to maintain...
We'll have to spend some time clearing away all this stuff soon, as hopefully we will be moving! Yay! :)
The way many a self sufficient idea goes Elin !!! We grew some stupid things the first year, stuff we didn't really like but we soon learnt to be selective !!! Nice everyday picture !
