This tree with thorns on its bark is also in our neighbourhood. It is a bit squashed in on a pavement, so might not grow very big. I've Googled it and the closest match I can get is a Ceiba Pentandra (Kapok tree). It is quite unique here, I have never seen another apart from this one.

I like your serie based on some particular views of tree barks and trunks. It is quite different than the "usual" tree pictures. I like the POV you have taken for this one, and the light that enhances the thorns.
