Cotton Tree Beetle

We had a trip to Brunswick Heads today.
Whilst walking along the river, I spied this beetle on a cotton tree.
At Christmas time there are hundreds living on these trees.

That's one very pretty and colourful bug, and such a clear photo too!!! You asked about my collage the other day, sorry I took so long to get back to you. I made it in Picasa - just the free one on the net, there are benefits and definitely some drawbacks of the program though Im just using it as a stop gap until I get some proper software, I have lost some really good photo's using it so just be careful.
