Yesterday we had our coldest morning in 4 years for May.
It was 8 deg C here.
By our standards that is cold for Australia :D
This Liquid Amber tree next door is fast losing its leaves.
I love their colour at this time of the year.
Our yard is covered in them.
PS (Apologies for originally calling it a Fiddlewood - the neighbours also have one of those too).
8 degrees C doesn't seem terribly cold if you live here!! I too love the autumn colours and you've captures a lovely light on those. Does "fiddlewood" suggest that the tree is used for violins? Here we're enjoying the bright fresh greens of spring!
I reckon that's mild for your part of the world.
For this time of the yearhere it is :D
The coldest it gets where we live is usually about 3deg, and that's in the middle of winter.
Other areas out west get down to the minuses.
Answering your question, the fiddlewood isn't used for violins.
It's a tall thin tree with many branches at about 45deg and grows quite high.
Quite common here.
I love reading about your autumn as we in North America experience spring. It really makes me feel connected. Your picture really brings your world to life.
wow - 8 degrees C is nothing for us here in Wisconsin. It's so neat to be able to share your autumn while I'm experiencing spring. This is such an awesome website and project to be a part of.
P.S. Spring is a wonderful reprieve from our long winter but autumn is my favorite season. Keep posting beautiful pictures!
What fun to see a flip flop of seasons when we're about to have summer here! Denise V is reveling in her spring rain and you have fall leaves. Isn't this a great, wonderful world?!
Liquid Ambers are my favourite autumn tree. I planted one 5 years ago and this year cause we have had more rain over summer, it has turned the most beautiful colour

I love the colors in this photo, too. !
