Skink by loey5150

Skink

I was visiting my brother today & we saw this skink sunning himself on a rock in the garden.
We don't often see them this big.
They are harmless.
I like the look of them. It's the sign of a healthy garden too.
I'm sure they are good at ridding the gardens of those pesty leaf eaters? How big do they get?

Great capture, Lois. I have never heard them called that before. He's so shiney too. Really nice! We have gekkos and cameleons here in Texas. . (sp?)

I see them inside my home running along the carpet ... is that a sign of a healthy home? Or that they just want to take a short cut to the front door through my house instead of around it? Well, they find their way out once I pick them up and show them the way nicely. :)

He looks a bit different from our lizards here...which I suppose would be expected worlds apart! I like what you said about him being a sign of a healthy garden. It's definitely why I love to see them in the yard!

Love the green grass as an accent and a repetition of his long curved body.
