I think these two red columbine flowers are in love with each other.
I have been staying inside a lot lately and when I went out into the yard today I was shocked how many flowers there were. I never knew we had so many different irises; purple and white, purple and yellow, red and yellow, spotted purple and white, white, purple so dark it looks black, lavender and probably some I am forgetting.
I tried to take pictures of each different kind, but the weather was out to get me. Every time I would go outside it would start to sprinkle and then pour, I would go inside for 10 minutes, the rain would go away. So I would go back outside and it would start raining again. I gave up after the third attempt, so I will document the irises another day.
This was my favorite shot of today because they are so tangled, I had a hard time deciding where one starts and the other begins. The bases of these plants are at least two feet apart, but they reached out to hug.
