Painted Lady

These butterflies are doing well in Britain just now.. good to learn about a rare butterfly success story these days. They are doing exceptionally well in my garden meadow patch. They like the thistles, of course, but also the knapweed (as here). We have plenty of both.

@jesika2 How do you know it's home grown? What are the signs?

@lostphojo It's pristine. Had it travelled many miles, maybe from European continent, it would have lost scales and be worn and torn. It's young, recently eclosed (the posh word for hatch).
Hope you get masses of them ,there should be another mass eclosion fairly soon as the travellers' children emerge.
