My pink lavender is in full bloom, a full month early. We have had so much warm weather all our plants are budding and filling out. The theme this week is "climate", this sweet plant's early bloom is totally climate related. ***Update! As it turns out this is a dwarf pink flowering almond tree/shrub! *** The nursery mis-labeled it.
I'm reading along and thinking, "THAT's not lavender!!" Tree blossoms are so lovely, but I can't tell most of them apart. Sadly we'll be looking to replace the flowering plum trees. When we had them taken out, the gardener said that across the region that tree didn't survive the drought. To plant a new one, he said they'd probably be very happy now after all the rain!
@Weezilou As it turned out, this plant was mis-labeled at the nursery. It is a pink flowering dwarf almond tree. It acts just like forsythia, blooming early then putting on long stems of pretty leaves, but no more blooms. It has been it's best this
spring. So I'm not going to pull it up, lucky shrub. Smile.
