My Valentine candy weakness by louannwarren

My Valentine candy weakness

I made it all the way to February 12 this year without buying these conversation hearts! My thought was that surely by that date the stores would be out of them. LOL.
Lovely shot. I like those candies, too, and forgot to buy any this year. Maybe I can still get some.

Fun commentary. I've never been tempted by them! As a kid I ate them most of the time because they were there. But it would be fun to find some to photograph. Maybe next year...

Lovely composition full of sweet light and colour, they are known as love hearts in the UK, its interesting image Lou Ann:)

Lovely display! I don't think they ever run out of these candies - a valentine's classic for sure!

Oh you're so funny Lou Ann! I suspect that the stores not only didn't run out, but today you can go back and stock up at half price! I find that on holidays-after I'm always having a struggle, wrestling with my conscience! That said, I love your beautiful, vintage, slightly old-fashioned layout here! Such a charming tableau!

This is a beautiful image, Lou Ann! Wonderful composition! I was in HEB today and just as Louise commented, all the candy is half price and they had LOTS of boxes of conversation hearts on the shelf. They are my valentine candy weakness also but I did resist...mostly because I had to buy some yogurt-covered pretzels for today's photo and I knew I would be eating all the leftover pretzels and I certainly didn't need to be nibbling on conversation hearts also. :-)

@gaylewood oh Gayle, I buy the BAGS of conversation hearts, not those tiny boxes. I’ve learned over time that you need to buy them early or they are too hard to enjoy. LOL

Thank you all for your wonderful comments! This is on my during room table, I have a pair of those birds, they are a lot of fun! I really should have done a closeup of the hearts, they are “so 2018”, with texting letters - TTYL, LYMY, LOL, H&K, YOWZA. They are a hoot!

@Weezilou Thank you, Louise and thank you for the fav, you too @gaylewood!

What a fun photo. Oh my. I haven't bought these in forever. I didn't know they were now compatible with all the texting "codes".

Loved your comment - this is such fun - they've been around for forever, haven't they!

@joemuli @henrir @milaniet Thank you for your wonderful comments! I read up on them the other day. A pharmacist invented a machine to make throat lozenges and realized he could use the machine to make candy - the rest is history!
