He likes the suet basket and spends some time protecting it after he’s gotten his fill. I hear him occasionally pecking in a neighbor’s tree. This is the first year we’ve seen him, he’s fun to watch!
Wow! Awesome capture of this beautiful woodpecker, Lou Ann! I have a special woodpecker feeder (at least that's what they said at the store) with special suet and I've NEVER seen a woodpecker at the feeder. I've seen them in the trees but they don't seem interested in the feeder. The warblers and wrens seem to love it. :-)
