The house finch’s favorite place

I hung this feeder up last week, the top is a metal “quail”, so far the house finches are the only birds to dine there.

Maybe the quail intimidates some of the birds. The finch seems doesn't seem to be put off by the giant above him.

The quail does look a bit overwhelming, doesn't he? But I like his rusty composition and it probably won't be long before the other birds are feeding there as well. Good shot!

Maybe that quail is scarring them - they do take time to adjust to something different - house finches do seem braver than most. Nice clear shot.
