The good old hot summertime in Texas

Flowers that love full sun all day grow so well here. We are in a stretch of 100 degrees Fahrenheit days and these Cone flowers and Thistles were growing like crazy where the White Winged Dove lives. That’s a Magnolia tree coming up behind the flowers. I was all alone that day taking photos, which is a good thing because I was practically lying on the ground to get this photo.
Beautiful

@joansmor @ludwigsdiana @onewing @mittens @henrir @pamknowler @joemuli @ziggy77 @gijsje @beryl Thank you so much for your great comments. I think this photo shows just how hot we are, with the flower’s leaves wrinkling up and the thistles to the side reaching skyward. We will only be 98 and 99 later in the week. Smile!

So glad these can take the heat. I only like that temperature when it can cool off overnight for some relief but when the heat just builds and builds, it's miserable! Fav.

It looks wild and busy with flowers! Thats a bit hot I have to admit. Texas in June might be as hot as Texas in July!

What a lovely summery shot, I don't think I could manage in that heat.
June 27th, 2018
Oh this is lovely!
June 27th, 2018
I feel your heat - we're matching it and it's sure not fun! Imagine my plants will be in bad need of water by the time I get home tomorrow. I love the cone flowers in summer - such a pretty mass of them here.

bright and sunny and so many flowers!

@beryl @pcoulson @gardenfolk @gamelee @maggiemae @suzanne234 @carole_sandford @milaniet @lynnz Thank you so much for your great comments and faves! Because of the heat we have to be outside very early in the morning, otherwise we stay in air conditioning! I water my pot plants early every day and we use the sprinklers twice a week. Along about August everything gets tired and quits growing. I enjoy the plants till then.

Very colourful shot and great pov,
100 degrees? I'm melting at the very thought!
June 28th, 2018
blue skies & beautiful flowers..
June 28th, 2018
@milaniet I need to repot my potted plants with that soil that holds moisture. There’s no way they would survive right now if I wasn’t here watering most of them every day.

@4rky I live in North Texas so the summers are brutal! Thank you for commenting on my photos, I appreciate it!
