The Catheral of the Immaculate Conception, opened in 1850
A lovely Catholic Cathedral in Mobile, Alabama. Their stunning stained glass windows are German Art Glass. They send one window a year to Germany to be repaired and reglazed, they are 2/3 of the way through with the project. The cathedral grounds were lovely too, I don’t know what the pink flower is, it was on a long-limbed shrub and just popped from the landscape.

We arrived during noon mass so had to kind of roam around outside till mass was over. The art glass stained glass windows were breathtaking but the group was in a hurry to catch our bus so I couldn’t tarry. It was pretty amazing that just a few blocks away the Methodist church had Louis Comfort Tiffany windows! They were protected on the outside with strange colored glass that allowed the sunlight to shine through them - if you were inside! You had to make an appointment to tour the Methodist church, it is kept locked, seemed such a shame, as we were all over the Cathedral after mass let out. You put this on the TP, thank you so much!
