If you can walk between the bollards with your pole you can fish in the Gulf of Mexico!

North Padre Island installed these bollards on the beach to stop vehicular traffic from damaging this portion of the beach, as it is still recovering from Hurricane Harvey several years ago. The fishermen park their cars and walk into the restricted area. We laughed because they have miles of beach to fish from, but they want to fish here!

Someone whispered to one that that's where the fish were! Nicely composed shot.

Lovely shot and scene. I suppose that there are more fish in certain spots than others. I notice it here too.

@pcoulson Peter the Padre Island beach is 69 miles long from Port Aransas all the way to Port Mansfield. The bollarded beach at Port Aransas protects a mile or so of the northern beach that sustained serious damage from Hurricane Harvey two and a half years ago. So the fishermen have miles and miles of beach to fish from, you know what they say “the fishing is always better on the other side of the bollards”. Ha!
