I honestly am not positive they are StratoCumulus, hoping someone here can correct me! When I was growing up we called them washboard clouds. Jerry said sailors call them Mackerel Skies, a sign to sailors that fair weather is on the way.
@jacqbb I just tagged it. Thank you. @pcoulson I knew you would know the correct name. They were fun to watch as they dispersed too. @carole_sandford thank you, Carole.
cirrostratus. we're seeing so many types of clouds now and they are gorgeous to photograph. when i look at clouds these days i think of henri, she loved clouds and always faved my cloud shots. i miss henri. aces on the shot, law.
@summerfield Henri did love clouds. We both grew up in West Texas, and studied clouds every day. It was just our way of life. The cotton farmers depended on the weather, especially the rain, and we all wanted the cotton crops to be good every year. I miss her too, so much.
