Jerry put a 3-in-one fertilizer, fire ant killer and weed killer on our lawn a few days ago. The only thing that happened to the dandelions was they bent over instead of standing tall. We laughed and laughed.
I laughed too and then thought there was a 'natural remedy'
Simply pouring vinegar over the dandelions changes the acidity in the soil for long enough to kill the weeds. For a faster punch, mix pickling vinegar with boiling water in equal parts for your dandelion killer. Pickling vinegar has more acid that distilled white vinegar, so it makes a more effective herbicide
Oh it will be dead very soon I think...it has to work through the roots! We used Roundup & the weeds didn’t die straight away...the weeds surged ahead & they were killed by growth eventually. We could even turn our cows out in the fields after we had sprayed. Your weed killer might work in a similar way...hopefully!
@milaniet a new neighbor two doors away has let his yard go and it is full of dandelions. The wind blows from his direction all the time so we didn’t have any hope of being spared. We’ve never had any dandelions really. This year we have a bumper crop.
As mentioned above most weed killer work on the root of the plant and it takes at least 24 hours before anything significant happens. But in the meantime the slow process gives you something to laugh about. Funny shot.
