The Loretta Chapel staircase in Santa Fe, New Mexico
This chapel was being built in the 1870’s when the architect died before designing stairs to the choir loft. The Sisters of Loretta prayed for nine days for a miracle to help them complete the chapel. A carpenter miraculously appeared on the ninth day and built the staircase, with no visible means of structural support. He used wood that no one had seen before; and when the stairs were complete he disappeared without receiving payment. The chapel is now a museum and wedding venue, and the staircase is cordoned off, it’s just to look at now. Here is a link to this incredible story.

That staircase is absolutely beautiful! And what a beautiful story of a miracle that goes with it!
It really is too bad that it is cordoned off. I am sure that the Lord meant for it to be used when He sent the carpenter to complete it.
that looks like a really attractive structure. the spiral staircase is a beauty. i suppose for anyone to determine what wood was used they'd have to take a piece for examination. aces, law. aces!
Fabulous stairs that seem to be self supporting. Maybe if I prayed for 9 days I could summon up our builder to come and renovate our bathroom that was supposed to have been finished last month.

Interesting info in your link.
