Dry grass

Dry for D today. On my walk this morning this scene showed the results of our long dry spell pretty well. You can see some green in the shaded areas, the sunny areas are taking a beating this summer. There are grasses that can manage this heat but they are very expensive.

A well captured scene, at least it always recovers after enough rain. Our lawn looks like that every summer ;-)

Ours has been the same but we've had a couple of short downpours and there's some green shoots appearing

Oh my! It is really bad! I think you said the other day you’ve had more than a month of hundred degree plus weather? I cannot imagine. You’re lucky there’s any green at all.

So sad- but nature has a way of surviving and my guess is once the rain returns, the roots will perk right up and everything will be green again.
