I caught this fountain late yesterday afternoon.

The late afternoon sun was behind, lighting the water, while leaving the background shaded. I did crank up the contrast a bit, and darkened up the background a bit more...
The water droplets are well detailed so your edits must've done the trick. Neat pattern the water's created.

You have captured the sprinkling water so well here.

Looks very cooling Larry - your edit strikes exactly the right note.

@handymaurice - Thanks Haydn. Shutter speed was 1/1250, which was as fast as I could go w/ my compact digital (at the selected zoom). The backlighting really made the water "pop",but the sun was high enough to be out of the fram (and the photo background in deep shade). I used levels adjustment to darken the background to black.

@lsquared thanks Larry - I will remember the shutter speed next time - I think I am too slow due to porr exposure assessment - I will also rememeber the backlighting - will try on my holiday and upload any success!
