Piasa Point by lsquared

Piasa Point

The east (downstream) tip of Piasa Island, which sits in the Mississippi River, about 1/2 way between Alton, IL and Grafton, IL.

Grey day with occasional snow flurries, but a fun eagle-watching excursion up-river. We saw 7-8 bald eagles, but none were close enough to capture well with my humble "kit" zoom.

Something so peaceful about this.

Thanks for the answer about the River not freezing. Cold looking winter shot here. We enjoy road trips along the Mississippi in nice weather!

This does look cold! You have caught the iciness of the river perfectly and your composition is wonderful.
Thanks for entering the landscape challenge!
