My faithful Nikon Cooppix P340 has finally died. I've love my DSLRs (andnow my Mirrorless). There is always a spot in my life for a compact digital. A camera that will fit in a shirt pocket, or a briefcase, or a car's glovebox. In the spirit of "the best camera is the one you have with you". I've had a few compact digital cameras since 2002; this camera's predecessor died on my second day at 365project (01/07/2015).
The P340 has been my favorite compact camera of all of them, and by far.Very solid, and you can see the beating it took. With some nice features that were not that common back then (the ring around the lens sets the f-stop, giving the same feel as a SLR/DSLR. Fully manual capability. Lots of good stuff.
But no more.
Looking for suggestions for a replacement, any thoughts?
Good to see that it has been well used. A smart phone will fit in a shirt pocket. My iPhone can produce decent results but I hate using it... it takes its own decisions regardless of my wishes!
Thanks all! This has beena great camera, I do miss it. I was looking at getting a new lens for my "real" canera, I might have to re calibrate and replace this.
