Ludington Breakwater Lighthouse by lsquared

Ludington Breakwater Lighthouse

Ludington, Michigan.

You can probably notice that the lighthouse is not quite straight. According to the internet, "In 1994, the crib on which the light sits settled, and the tower tilted four degrees to the northeast. Cost to repair it was considered excessive, so the Army Corps of Engineers decided it was safe and to leave it as is. Looking at the North Breakwater Lighthouse today, the tilt can still be seen.".
Beautiful composition and atmosphere. fav

I don't see many lighthouses to close to the water level. Nice scene!

Thanks all!

@jgpittenger I wouldn't expect the path to the lighthouse to be underwater, except in extreme circumstances. The path runs along the breakwater for the harbor.
