"I want to take you back... WAY back. Back into time..."
This one is from my college days, sometime in the fall of 1981 (I think). I was shooting photo for the school paper (Duke Univ. Chronicle) and was assigned to shoot a tobacco spitting contest which was being held at the Duke Homestead (an historic site, where Washington Duke got his start)...
Anyway, after dutifully recording the glorious expectorating, I spent some time wandering the grounds, and taking some photos for myself. This is inside the 1852 homestead building. Shot with my trusty Canon TX SLR, using Tri-X film (bulk loaded of course). Natural light. No tripod, but braced against a chair back.
This is a scan of a 5x7 print, probably scanned 10-15 years ago. One of these days I'll get lucky and find the negative... maybe.
