a floral riesling

It is an interesting exercise to compare how a series of different styles of wine glasses act as lenses. Every style has a completely different profile, and this style was the most sucessful today. In the end I felt the outcome was a little too imprecise for my liking, and I was reminded of my high school physics classes! (ooohh)
.... but I enjoyed drinking the prop once I was finished!
wonderful Lyn! I love the clear focus in the wine glass =D

@loopy12 thanks - it would probably have been easier & quicker to take two separate photos & merge them, but that might have defeated the purpose ;)

This is such a beautiful, well composed shot. The tones, reflection and bokeh look stunning together x

Thankyou @kimmiesue @ukdanae & @tori3012 - it is so miserably cold here that I was drawn to the spring-like colours too!

I love a dry Riesling. I had no idea one could get a clear refraction like this from a wine glass! And the soft colours are so attractive. Mmmm.... I will be looking at my glass of wine with new eyes from now on....

@ltodd I think the difficulty of getting such a shot without the photoshopping you mentioned helps to make this such a beautiful photo. Remind me to talk to you about glycerine. ;)
