At a quick trip to the skate park on the weekend I was really impressed with this fellow's graceful style in the air.
I had not intended to merge the three images of this single jump taken in continuous shooting mode, but it seemed the best way to share the dance-like graceful movements.
He did not seem to mind me photographing his jumps, but it would be hard to know - he showed absolutely no emotion after each jump, or when talking with his mates; seemingly using the movement of his body during the jump as his form of artistic expression.
@clarek (chuckle) no, once again no tripod Clare!! ( I own 2 tripods & don't seem to use them much do I !) I shot at a sufficiently high speed to freeze the subject automatically. I actually even had to add a bit of motion blur to the top two images to make it look more realistic/motion-like. I have to try & shoot surreptitiously at the skate park. :)
@nicolecampbell@kaisisland@mikew thankyou, I really do appreciate your comments - I was initially conciously trying to upload an 'unprocessed' shot, but argued with myself (!!) that it was OK to do upload this style of shot to represent the impact the jumps had on me at the time.
@grdelli thankyou so much for the PP alert ( wow, & yay, & :D) ..I did take this on continous shooting mode, and used the bottom image as the 'base' layer and pasted in the top two 'selections' from the other shots in 'overlay' blend mode.
i want to learn how to do this too..
very good
@glendq thanks so very much too! ... learning to skateboard? ;D (hehehe)
