The definition of "not quite fun" is being alone in the office during last nights storm when the power is cut. Winds, rain, hail and a spectacular lightening storm created one memorable evening!
After reaching home, another storm hit and I stood at my back door trying to keep dry to take this shot. This light show went on for about an hour - accompanied by massive amount of rain and hail, and more than a dozen lightening strikes in our suburb.
The white light on the right is from the lightening in the sky behind the house. I have not cropped it out because it actually was so intense it was part of the scene. I have pictures of my backyard lit up as if by sunlight.
Had to work hand held as the wind whipped the rain in all directons and there was nowhere dry enough under cover to fit a tripod.
The downside seems that my modem has been 'fried' while I was taking this shot.
Great capture Lyn. I was hidden inside wishing it would all stop! It lasted for over four hours here and freaked me out. Trust the weather to perform like this the first night Rob is in India!

And wernt they a wild set of storms!!! I think most of Canberra was up most the night!
